“Barattano Castle is an impressive and charming property in an equally charming setting. The view from the pool of the Umbrian countryside is breathtaking. And who can claim to live in a castle from the 13th century? Fabrizio is a very friendly and helpful man and you can tell that this kindness comes from his heart. A power outage surprised us one day. But here too, technicians were at work immediately and fixed the problem. Overall we were very satisfied.”

“Of course, at first glance, the castello looks very great. The charm of the old walls fills you with wonder. The fact that there is a pool with a magnificent view is also very winning. Unfortunately, it is increasingly losing all of this. Upon closer inspection, everything appears neglected and unkempt. Trash is lying around. There have been unwashed dishes in the bar for days. In the room Lurch under all the furniture. The shower stall broken. Kitchenware rather poor. We organized a cutting board and thank God I had a tea towel with me. The place is very quiet and you can definitely relax if the weather is right. The stay in the room itself is rather depressing as it is dark and oppressive. Hardly a loving or inviting detail. It is only bright at night from the outside lights, so you have to close the windows so you don't have the advantage of the cool night. It's a shame, with a little bit of loving care and attention it would be a gem. We will end the stay early, even if the price of €49 per night corresponds to the circumstances. We don't feel well. We didn't notice the Italian hospitality. With armchairs on all tables it was spoiled for us to have our dinner in the small bar. We were always alone there. Really a shame about this place.”

“Nice and attractive apartment in a medieval castle, very special! The pool is set in a garden with a breathtaking view. Somewhere in that castle there is also a restaurant where you can sit down. It is not all that bad, but we liked that. The welcome was very warm, there was a bottle of wine ready and some basic necessities (coffee, milk). The area is beautiful, and there are several towns to visit (Spoleto, Spello, Trevi, Assissi). The only pity is that you cannot sit outside at the apartment. With a little effort to realize we thought (we saw it for us .... :)”

“We had a great time in our own castle. Lots of privacy, welcoming and almost the entire pool for us alleen.muziek pool and ice cream sales. Umbria has much to offer. Beautiful waterfall, Assisi is a must and Foligno a fine shopping center. Poor mobility is not recommended. Lots of stairs and ramps.”

“It was a breathtaking vacation spot, but unfortunately we were there for 4 days, like we had to have at least a week longer stay.The castle is fantastic, retaining its historic charm both inside and outside the apartments which is located in the castle .The existing pool is quite large and overlooks the area of \u200b\u200bdifferent color splendor of rolling valleys and bergen.De reception is very welcoming and helpful and the owner and his family are waiting for you if you have questions or need help heb.Je can also making supper, use at a reasonable price in a small restaurant in the castle there is no menu but you get really italian food the cook that night for klaarmaakt.je is then operated by the (guest) kasteelheer.wij were on tour in italy and this was our most beautiful and special accommodation Belvilla and we come back definitely.”

“What a beautiful setting this anyway. You're really here in rural Italy, where people do something quieter. Vineyards, olive, sunflower and corn you see a lot. Beautiful rolling with distant faces. From the pool you can look right through the valley. The castle is also a separate experience, there are several people living / families. The apartment is really fantastic, with many original features. Many cultural cities in the immediate vicinity, including Todi and Spolleto. Here are just buildings of 2000 yr, great for lunch on the square (in the shade). The last night we were invited by the lord of the castle together with his family, including grandparents, for dinner. Sit outside under the grape vines. Some knowledge v / d Italian language and interest in their use is recommended. Here we will definitely come back yet!”

“The castle was very difficult to find without navigation. You will be redirected to Gualdo Cattaneo, but it is not in this town but Barratano, 12 km away. When the weather is beautiful, with a lovely pool and a cool apartment, but when it rains and blows it is not so comfortable. also the heaters did not. Each message must be done by car. The supermarket is 1 km away but not 5 min by personal vehicle.At culture lovers is ideal, provided you have a car and would not mind many miles to rijden.We have seen many, but had found it more enjoyable as there is a small village within walking distance was geweest.Er is privacy and the castle is beautiful and authentic.”

“Apartment very nice and pleasant (in a tower "a magnificent medieval castle), ALTHOUGH" a bit dark (small windows). Tiny village and quiet, surrounded by nature and greenery. The pool has a magnificent view of the surrounding valley! Owners very welcoming and sympas.Beaucoup of possibilities for walks, cultural (Perugia, Assisi, Todi family ...) and in the surrounding nature (growing!) Small Cons: The smell of a "poultry, unpleasant, when the wind brings the side of château.Prévoir also citronella as mosquitoes love the area!”

“Very welcoming accommodation and surroundings. Not very touristy so there are limited opportunities to see and do. At a reasonable distance include Assisi and Podo visit. Well everything from roads. The owners of this unique castle there doing everything to please the guests as much as possible to make sense.”

About the holiday home

It's a vacation to experience nature and culture. This 1-bedroom castle in Gualdo with a shared swimming pool, heating, a shared garden, and a barbecue is ideal for a family of 4 to relax near the forest.

The central location provides access to all facilities including a supermarket at 1 km and a restaurant at 3 km. There are many attractions to visit including Gualdo Cattaneo, Foligno, Spoleto, Todi, Perugia, and Lake Trasimeno. You can enjoy a day trip to Tuscany at 70 km and Rome at 130 km. The small Church of San Bartolomeo in the apartment complex has wonderful frescos from the 16th and 17th Centuries.

The castle is on the first floor of a tower. You can cook breakfast from the modern kitchen or try the local dishes served in the restaurant in the castle. There is a paid heating and the living-dining room has a fireplace. You can enjoy the barbecue in the furnished garden in the evening. Parking and space for 2 pets are also provided.

The airport lies 45 km away.
