Skagen is situated at the northernmost point of Denmark and known as the village with the ultimate number of sun hours. Here you can really feel the world while placing one leg in Skagerak and the other in Kattegat. It is right here that the waves of the two seas meet. The very bright Skagen light is something special and the reason why various artists gathered here throughout centuries. At the end of the 19th century the artists created an artists’ colony in the area, and in the Skagen Museum you can admire their works. The tractor-pulled bus called “Sandormen” (the sand worm) takes you to the uttermost point of the Grenen where the two seas meet.

In Gammel Skagen, (the old Skagen) you will find the unchanging and picturesque small village where everything looks just the way it did in the old days, and if you prefer a more dynamic place, it is always interesting to walk about the lively Skagen Havn (Skagen port) which offers a lot of different music experiences.

South of Skagen you will find many exciting attractions. Go visiting Den Tilsandede kirke (a church ”invaded” by the sand). Today only the spire of the church tower is visible. In this area you will also find Råbjerg Mile which is a must-visiting place. The 1.000,000 square metre big drifting dune is the largest drifting dune in Europe, and it moves about 15 metres each year. In the eagle reserve of Tversted you can get close to the biggest eagles of the world – here they have their own big nature scene.
